Micah 6:8 Sudan

Micah 6:8 Sudan seeks to help train Sudanese men and women in sustainable agriculture and biblical studies. One of the greatest problems that plagues many countries in Africa today is that we attempt to solve their economic problems through aid.  Aid helps temporarily relieve the suffering but it does nothing to help the long-term problems.   We are teaching men and women to stand in line for food instead of  truly giving them what they need; the training and education of how to work with the amazing resources they have in Southern Sudan.  Only one in ten individuals in the Sudan have a job.  There is a dire need for employment opportunities in the Southern Sudanese region where we are situated.  We are hoping to change these statistics by providing long-term employment opportunities as well as providing the only truth that can sustain.

There are two elements that are sorely lacking, the hope of the Gospel and education.  We need men to train Africans to be fishers of men and how to cultivate the land.  Many of the Sudanese only have a fraction of a Bible. They would love to have the whole Bible, not just Psalms and Proverbs.  These are the two aspects that characterize Micah 6:8 Sudan.  We are establishing a community where families live side by side working within an agricultural community and have access to biblical training.  This type of  education and training will help them  learn how to sustain their families for the long-term, but we also are training these families how to spiritually sustain themselves with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that, Tara! My husband leaves for the Sudan again in March. The next phase of the farm begins and we are sending one gentlemen at the moment to African Renewal Christian College to train in agricultural science. Check it out. It’s really neat what they do. http://www.arccuganda.org/
