Rubber Ducky Cookies {1st Birthday Party}

Rubber Ducky, you’re the one, you make bathtime lots of fun, Rubber Ducky, I’m awfully fond of you; Woo woo be doo. Yup, I have been singing that tune for days while preparing custom cookies for a rubber ducky party. Don’t you love those phone calls? The phone call you get with a great party idea. Your mind starts swirling about what to make and how to decorate these cookies. That is exactly what happened when I received the request for rubber ducky cookies from Julie Read, she is the owner of Juju’s Tutus.  Julie’s beautiful Etsy store features some of the cutest tutus around. Her tutu’s have been featured on TLC’s 4 Weddings & Wedding Chicks. I was so thankful that Kimmie, from Sincerely Style, referred her to me. I will be back with more about these in just a few!

Rubber Ducky Cookies, Anyone?

I wish I could take credit for the plaque cookie, but it was designed based on the fun invitations for the rubber duck party. The printable design came from Print Chicks on Etsy.  The plaque cookie is one of my favorite design. Whether the plaque is for a birthday or for a holiday place card; I think it makes the perfect centerpiece for a cookie set.

How cute is this Hucky Ducky Printable. Print Chicks made invitatations and posters for the party.

One of the best things to keep in my mind when throwing a themed party is a little variety. You can make simple decisions that will help your dessert table “pop”.  Everyone has a budget when they are planning a party. The great thing is designed cookie sets can range from complex to more simple designs. For example, in this set the plaque cookie is a little more complex so it compliments the bubbles and rubber duckie cookies. When I give a quote, I like to offer variety so that you are able to mix and match. I recommend choosing a couple of complex cookies that will stand out like a centerpiece and then doing smaller simpler cookies in the larger amount to feed the guests.

The rubber ducky cookies I chose to use for this set were 2 different size ducks; a 2 inch size duck and a 5″ size duck. The bubbles were made from 2″ rounds.

Last but not least, my favorite. When I think of ducky’s I think of the tub. I couldn’t resist doing a rubber ducky cookies in the tub with lots of bubbles. Now let’s get back to the conversation of tutu’s. Anyone who follows my blog knows that my house is boy dominated. There are no little girls running around.  There is nothing frilly to be found here. When I saw Juju’s Tutus it was sooooo fun to look at and I fell in love with Julie’s shop. Here are just a few of her amazing creations.
